I love this little player! The sound quality is great, it’s easy to use, and it actually does everything the description says it does.
The one area that could use a little improvement is the earbuds – the hard plastic hurt my ears, so I bought a different set (Skullcandy’s blue ones go nicely with this color.) Even with the extra $10 or so, this player is a fraction of the cost of an iPod – and I can spend all the money I saved on more downloads!
I have zero regrets about buying this. Highly recommended!

For the price, you just can’t beat this device. I wanted something that would allow drag and drop of music files and would NOT require annoying bloatware on my PC like iTunes, (Someone gave my daughter an iPod, which was stolen a year later, and she subsequently realized that all the music on her PC had been converted to Apple’s acc format- and there was no way to convert it back to wma with the included software!!!!)
There is a proprietary format for the video; however, the software included on the mini-cd does an excellent and quick job of rendering ordinary mpeg2 files. We tested it and were pleased. Follow the instructions.
In conclusion, this is not a device for audiophiles or yuppies seeking status- but for $30, you can give one to all your kids and not have to beat them if they break it. (That was a joke.)

This MP3 player is incredible. I bought it and was very pleased with the features it contained. The radio receives pretty good reception and it’s pretty easy to download music into the MP3 player itself. It comes in a variety of colors but blue’s my fave. Arrived pretty fast so the wait was pretty short. I haven’t had any problems with it freezing up like some have said but maybe I’m one of the lucky ones. Not bad for the price.

But you are never too old to enjoy a new toy. I never understood why people had to run around with things stuck in their ears, as if having to listen to what was going on around them were an unberable thought. However, I do have chronic tinnitus, and a number of sources suggest that there is something beneficial in classical music for tinnitus sufferers. Now, maybe it takes a certain type of classical music or maybe it has to be specially filtered or treated to do the job. But, like a placebo, if I think I am getting good out of the music, who’s to say I am not? Even if it may not be the proper kind of music to be theraputic, I do believe that decreasing the contrast between the ringing in my head and the ambient sounds that I hear around me is helpful.
So, at age 67 (and a half), i decided that an mp3 player was in order. The trick was finding one that would work with Mac, so I was happy to find this very reasonably priced ematic on Amazon. It arrived today, so I cannot speak to battery life, as I just got it charged up. The instruction manual (I should have put that in quotation marks) is laughably inadequate, and although it does address hooking the device up to Windows 2000 and to Windows XP and also how to install music from Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player, it says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about hooking up to or downloading from a Mac … and I bought the thing only because I HAVE A MAC. Nevertheless, and shall I say fortunately, most mac people don’t need to be told how to plug in or drag and drop files. I figured it out. Oh, and if I hadn’t, you can find plenty of people on YouTube willing to post a video on how to do almost anything.
There are still functions that I have not learned how to operate. At one point, the instructions say to “please refer to the chapter ‘Basic Operations’ below or the full use’s [sic] manual” which, apparently, is not included in the packaging, unless it is on the little tiny CD that I can’t use. It would be nice if emetic would post the manual online but, as far as I can tell, it is not there. However, they did include an email address for customer service, and I will be communicating with them.
Meanwhile, I did actually get the cute little thing up and running, after a fashion, and am presently listening to my playlist as I type. I think I have put a dozen songs on it, and it is supposed to hold a thousand, so I have a long way to go. All in all, I am happy with it, and you can’t deny it is certainly worth the money. The sound quality, as another reviewer remarked, is surprisingly good. One thing I do want to know is why the heck could they not have attached something (such as digital cameras or many other mp3 players have) on which to attach a hand strap of some sort??? Cute as it is, I do not want to have to hold it in my hand, and most of my clothes do not have pockets. If I could put a string on it, I would wear it around my neck. Maybe I should tape it to my forehead.

I bought this because I was looking for a inexpensive digital radio with a rechargeable battery. So far, I’ve only used the radio. I like the digital tuner and the sound quality is great with my own headphones. I’ve listen to the radio up to 5 hours on one charge.
I’m a little disappointed that the FM tuner doesn’t give out a digital read out of the songs that are being played in the radio mode, on the digital display. It was one of the other features I was looking for. But outside of that, it’s a great buy for the price.
